The Chapwood Index Vs. Government’s CPI Numbers

The Federal Goverment uses the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to indicate the increase in cost of living from year to year. However, while the government feels this number is accurate others feel the opposite. Analysts feel it is grossly under reporting what the real cost of living is and should be measured at. Ed Butowsky is one of those analysts. Ed has created his own cost-of-living index, The Chapwood Index, that can apply to all Americans.
