Inflation Numbers A Disappointment During Summer Months

As gas prices continued to creep upwards over the course of the summer many analysts agreed that gas prices are a major contributor to the well being of the American economy. The impact of gas prices rising are felt by every American and more importantly through their wallets. However, the government will leave you to believe that there is no inflation based on their CPI numbers. Ed Butowsky, wealth manager, financial advisor, and managing partner of Chapwood Investment Management, joins Fox Business’ Varney & Company to discuss why the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a false indicator and the Chapwood Index proves to be much more realistic in terms of reporting the REAL cost of living increase.
